Our Admin of the Month for May 2024 is Rachel Sullivan, Executive Assistant to the President & CEO at Marcus & Millichap.
Check out Rachel's advice video below!
I moved out of my parent's house before I went to college, so I needed to support myself and found a sales assistant position. This was my first introduction to administrative work. My role has changed immensely since then. At my first office job, we didn't have access to email if we were out of the office because smart phones had not yet been invented. Over the years, I've worked in multiple industries and companies, from a nationwide public company to a small family-owned business. I've leveled up in my role by becoming more of a strategic partner to the executives I work with.
My favorite part of the job is that I never stop learning!
As an Admin, I'm most proud of the strides I've been able to make since I began in this position, from a sales assistant, to an admin assistant, and now a high-level executive assistant. I'm very proud of my work ethic and my ability to be proactive and think strategically.
ASAP has supported my personal and professional growth by sharing stories from other assistants, creating a community of assistants, and providing so much wonderful content, advice, and industry updates on a regular basis.
My professional superpower is learning to read my executive's mind. By never being afraid to ask questions and building trust and routines over time, I can usually get to the point at a job where the executive has what they need before they even know they need it.
